Hey everyone- It's Mikey with my infrequent updates. It's been some time so I thought I'd fill you all in...

First and foremost, my debut album is being packaged and shipped from the manufacturers as I write this! It will be available on Itunes in 2-3 weeks, as well as my website and cdbaby.com where you can purchase the hard copy with all the artwork (like back in the day). This put me in a fantastic mood and lead to me writing you all. I can't tell you how excited I am to finally have an album out and let you all hear what I've been working on, and ofcourse to let the songs take on their own lives (It's hard letting go). For those of you who are fans of "mikey wax music" on facebook, I've put a sneak peak of 2 new songs from the album on my facebook player that most of you have never heard before (I think). Some of you might be familiar with "Last Great Song," but also check out "Yes," my most likely first-to-be-single. I've put them both up for free download so go ahead and grab them! Hope you guys like. I'm still amazed that between Myspace and facebook, "In Case I Go Again" has been downloaded 1,000+ times over the past few months! There are 13 songs on this album, so there is still plenty more to hear besides the songs I've put up for download on these websites. I hope you all will continue to support me and buy the album when it debuts on itunes in a few weeks! I am most likely having a CD release party at Arctica Bar located on 28th and 3rd (NYC) sometime early November. I'll fill you in more as that gets closer. And it will get closer fast. Time flies. Really fast.

Secondly, I am very excited to say that I have been offered my first licensing deal with Synchup Music! They get your songs in tv shows and films, which is a great way for new artists to gain exposure these days (Death Cab, the Fray, Snow Patrol). I'm excited to begin working with them. I will keep you all posted if a song shall be on a show that you all watch.

Third, I have been selected into this years CMJ festival taking place in NYC. This festival is huge for unsigned artists, and it's real competitive so it was nice to be invited. A little bit about it: "Since 1981, CMJ has been a springboard for the best new music talent from multiple genres, discovering music's future superstars years before their commercial breakthroughs. Artists like Arcade Fire, Feist, Justice, M.I.A., Spoon, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Hold Steady, Hot Chip, Daft Punk, Eminem, Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M, Run-DMC, The Killers, Modest Mouse, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Green Day, Black Eyed Peas, Mars Volta, Jet, My Chemical Romance, and Foo Fighters have performed at CMJ Music Marathon way ahead of topping the charts."
